A Google engineer confirmed on Twitter the source of today’s outage. Please note this time frame is an estimate and may change. All affected users should have service again within the hour. Update: Google has now confirmed the outage and has said that Gmail should be back up for some users already. There’s been a huge spike on all services just before noon ET on DownDetector.
